As a Building Installations and Quality Inspector, you are the expert who reviews and analyzes the design of building-related installations. You assess installations for compliance with laws and regulations, client specifications, and quality standards such as TIS. Your second opinions and risk analyses ensure that installations function optimally and meet all requirements. Work at Seconed – Make a Difference in the Quality of Dutch Construction!

Do you want to apply your expertise to projects where safety is not a choice, but a requirement?
At Seconed, you assess the technical quality of the most complex buildings and infrastructure — independently, critically, and with impact.

    About Seconed

Seconed is the go-to independent assessment partner for construction projects in the highest risk categories (such as CC3). We don’t build ourselves — instead, we evaluate whether others are doing it right: technically, structurally, in terms of building physics, fire safety, installations, and compliance.
From bridges and tunnels to hospitals, airports, and distribution centers: our projects are technically challenging, often large in scale, and always of societal importance. Mistakes are not an option here. We provide certainty before construction begins.

You’ll work in a compact team of specialists who thoroughly review and assess projects together. You collaborate closely with colleagues from five disciplines, making sure designs work — not only on paper, but in practice too.

    What You’ll Do

    • Evaluate designs for building-related installations (electrical and mechanical)

    • Perform second opinions and risk analyses

    • Check whether designs comply with applicable laws and regulations (NEN standards, Dutch Building Decree) and client requirements

    • Report findings through checklists and provide clear, practical recommendations

    • Consult with clients, designers, and contractors

    • Collaborate with specialists from other disciplines, such as architecture and structural engineering

    • Contribute to continuous improvement of assessment processes and quality standards

    • Occasionally perform on-site inspections in the Netherlands and abroad

    What We Offer

💰 A competitive salary between €3,500 and €6,500 depending on experience
📚 Opportunities for professional development and specialized training
🏠 Flexible hours and the possibility to work partly from home, including a home office allowance
🔍 Work on large, complex projects that enhance safety across the Netherlands
🤝 A team of experts for collaboration and knowledge sharing
    🚗 Company car included
🩺 Monthly contribution to your health insurance

    What You Bring

    • A technical degree (HBO) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Installations

    • At least 5 years of experience with building installations in an engineering or consultancy environment

    • Solid knowledge of applicable laws and standards (e.g. NEN, Dutch Building Decree)

    • Experience with both electrical and mechanical installations, such as ventilation, water systems, heating, and electrical systems

    • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English (French is a plus)

    • An analytical, detail-oriented, and independent work attitude

    Why Choose Seconed?

At Seconed, you work on projects that truly matter. We are independent, knowledge-driven, and committed to quality. Here, you’ll have the freedom to deepen your expertise, collaborate with other specialists, and actively contribute to the safety and sustainability of the built environment.
